200-acre farm purchased by an investor with the goal of transitioning from conventional dry-farmed grass seed to an irrigated organic farm with production of diverse goods.

Challenge:

Develop water harvesting earth works to support a commercial scale organic farming operation.  

Solutions:

In order to develop the required water storage infrastructure, the client had to design a reservoir system and apply for water rights from the state and local regulatory agencies. The consultation phase also included planning for the farm enterprises.  Conceptual plans were developed to site orchard systems and pastures for a diverse farming operation.

Consultation and development of this site is ongoing, as PDI is managing the installation and lease agreements for operators.
